Kyle Newman is a sportswriter for The Denver Post, a position he's held since 2016. The Denver native covers the Rockies/MLB, Avalanche/NHL, college sports, Summit FC/NWSL, Broncos/NFL, high school sports, and general assignment stories.

Honored as the 2025 Colorado Sportswriter of the Year, he is also on the board for the Gold Helmet Award as well as for the newspaper's girls soccer award. He still plays baseball for the Colorado Cutthroats of the Denver National Adult Baseball Association. As the Cutthroats' catcher and manager, the club has won four Denver NABA championships. He lives in Hidden Village, Colorado, with his wife and three kids, four dogs, and nine chickens. He is also a poet who has published five books, runs a baseball training company called Newman Baseball Academy, and coaches his kids in baseball, basketball, and football.
